Yes We Can
Today, I jumped out of bed put on something blue and rushed out to the polls to be first inline. On my way out the door, I realized someone had stolen my Obama yard sign and replaced it with a McCain sign. I didn’t let this incident ruin my favorite day that only comes around every 4 years. I voted! And I voted with hope instead of fear.
But now that this exciting election season is coming to an end, I’m not sure what I’m going to do with myself after today. I’ve spent the last 9 months reading political blogs, staring at polls, volunteering for Maine Dems, and arguing with all and any republicans, and now it’s about to be over.
This has be an epic election season and I’m glad that I’ve played a part in all this excitement. I hope I don’t go through election withdrawals, but I’ll be back in full political swing in 2012.
Please don’t forget to VOTE!

The Great Schlep
Sarah Silverman is urging jewish grandkids across the nation to visit their Florida grandparents to talk to them about voting for Barack Obama. We Have So Much at Stake This Time - Vote!
Why your vote counts.
Because elections today frequently are won by tiny margins, the mobilization of women – has the potential to change the political landscape in many states and perhaps the country as a whole.
Only 64% of the eligible voters in the United States voted in 2004. Worse yet, only 47% of 18-24 year olds voted—as compared to 71% of seniors 65 years and older.
No wonder Social Security is the third rail of politics while women’s issues like reproductive rights, peace, affirmative action, and the environment take a back seat. Women have enormous rights at stake in this election. Yet, we are the least registered and least voting population in the country. It’s time for women to make their voices heard...VOTE!

Paris is Like, Totally Ready to Lead
Paris Hilton tells off John McCain for putting her in one of his Obama attack ad.
Last week the McCain campaign aired “TV Ad: Celeb” mocking Barack Obama popularity by comparing Obama to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears and suggesting that Obama was no more than a celebrity candidate unready to lead the nation. The ad has stirred up plenty of criticism already, notable from Paris’ mother Kathy, who donated $4,600 to McCain's campaign earlier in the year. Kathy responds,
This was "a complete waste of the country's time and attention at the very moment when millions of people are losing their homes and their jobs” Kathy stated to Huffington Post.
But Paris fires back at McCain today with help from Will Ferrel’s Funny or Die website with a funny spoof announcing that she “is like, totally ready to lead.”
"Hey America, I'm Paris Hilton and I'm a celebrity too. Only, I'm not from the olden days, and I'm not promising change like that other guy. I'm just hot. But then that wrinkly, white-haired guy used me in his campaign ad, which I guess means I'm running for president. So thanks for the endorsement white-haired dude."
Paris goes on to announce her energy policy, vice presidential pick and promises to paint the White House pink.
This may be a new low in US presidential campaigns, but spoof political ads are nothing new. And I too totally loves it!

The Bump a Symbol of Change
Let's give it up to Barack Obama for wining the democratic nomination. But more importantly for giving Michelle Obama the bump. At the climatic moment when the Senator from Illinois was about to accept the nomination the whole world watched Barack gently knock knuckles with his wife Michelle. Yes that's right -- Barack gives the bump. While others my shake, hug, kiss, give a thumbs-up, high-five or low-five, Barack is truly the man to bring change and throws out the bump.
